The nomination recognizes the enormous impact that Saturday deliveries have had on Cykelpartner’s sales, which have increased by 17 percent.
Saturday deliveries - a boon
Saturday deliveries have proved to be a boon for Danish online store cykelpartner.dk, based in Västjylland. A few months after Saturday deliveries began, Cykelpartner ran a test that revealed a full 17-percent increase in sales as a direct result of allowing customers to place orders until 6 PM on Friday evenings and have their goods delivered the following day.
PostNord is one of only a handful of major distributors in the Danish parcel market to offer parcel deliveries on Saturdays. May 9 marks the one-year anniversary of the new service’s introduction.
A success story
Cykelpartner’s success story is being used to show other e-retailers the effect that offering customers Saturday deliveries can have on their business. Cykelpartner.dk’s results are so impressive that the case is one of four nominated for Denmark’s E-handelsprisen 2016 e-commerce award.
