PostNord near the top in international environmental rankings

PostNord among the top three when partner company to world’s leading postal companies ranks qualitative climate efforts in the industry.

IPC (International Post Corporation) is partner company to the world’s leading postal companies. IPC has set the common industry goal of reducing total CO2 emissions by 20 percent by the year 2020. As part of this work, IPC ranks the development and improvement of postal companies’ qualitative climate efforts.

The main parameters that form the basis of IPC’s assessment are the company’s processes for environmental work, the degree to which environmental work is established with company management and the degree of transparency demonstrated by the company for its own and its subcontractors’ sustainability data. PostNord had placed third in the IPC’s ranking for the third consecutive year.

- We are proud that PostNord is ranked as one of the world’s top three companies in the industry in terms of environmental efforts. We have done a lot of work in this area, and we are now stepping up the pace. This demonstrates that we are well positioned to both meet IPC’s goals and our own longer-term climate targets, says Erica Kronhöffer, Vice President Environment & TQM at PostNord.

PostNord has adopted the environmental goal of reducing the business’ CO2 emissions by 40 percent by 2020.

- Our own goal is twice as ambitious as the common IPC goal. Reducing emissions by 40 percent will require extensive adjustments to and investments in transport routes and energy consumption, says Erica Kronhöffer.
