PostNord acquires Harlem Transport in Norway

PostNord AB has signed an agreement for the cash acquisition of 100 percent of the shares in logistics company Harlem Transport AS. The acquisition complements PostNord’s existing operations in Norway and further strengthens the group’s position in the growing Norwegian logistics market.

Harlem Transport is a renowned transport and logistics company inNorway. The company offers services primarily for the transport of partloads in four areas; consumer goods, industry, shipping, and recycling and waste. The company holds a strong position as logistics supplier to the fast moving consumer goods sector and has agreements with several major companies in the industry. Harlem Transport had sales of NOK 292m and 211 employees in 2011.

PostNord’s logistics operations inSweden,Denmark,NorwayandFinlandhad sales of approximately SEK 13 billion. Operations are focused on parcel, pallet, express and third-party logistics. PostNord’s logistics operations inNorwayare run through Tollpost Globe AS, one ofNorway’s three largest logistics companies with NOK 2.7 billion in sales in 2011.

The transaction is subject to, inter alia, approval by the Norwegian competition authorities.
