PostNord acquires Nils Hansson Logistics

PostNord AB has signed an agreement with Nordstjernan Industriutveckling AB for the acquisition of Nils Hansson Logistics AB (NH Logistics). The acquisition will complement PostNord’s logistics operations with leading expertise in road transportation, further strengthening the group’s position as a leading supplier of logistics services to, from and within the Nordic region.

NH Logistics AB was founded in 1953 and has its main plant inLjungbyhed,Sweden. The company had sales of over SEK 346m in 2010. NH Logistics runs shipping and transport operations within Sweden and between Sweden and Western Europe, primarily Germany, Spain and France. The company has been owned by Nordstjernan Industriutveckling since 2005.

- NH Logistics is one of the premier road transportation operators in the Nordic region. The company provides PostNord with new expertise and strong relationships with operators in the European market. The acquisition is fully in line with our strategy of utilizing partnerships and acquisitions to broaden and strengthen our offer and our position as a leading operator in logistics services to, from and within the Nordic region, says Henrik Höjsgaard, Head of business area Logistics at PostNord.

- With PostNord, NH Logistics gets an excellent industrial owner, one with a broad base in the Nordic region and within logistics. This means that the company will have optimal conditions for further strengthening and developing its customer base and service offer, says Lars Lindgren, CEO of Nordstjernan Industriutveckling AB.

The current CEO of NH Logistics AB, Jörgen Malmqvist, will continue in his role. The company will have a new Board of Directors following approval by the competition authorities. Current Board member Bengt Nordin will be a member of the new Board of Directors.

The transaction is subject to approval by the competition authorities.
