PostNord acquires Distribution Services A/S

- The acquisition is part of Post Danmark’s efforts to adapt its operations and create a more efficient and profitable company. We’re acquiring a well-run company that we’ve worked closely with for many years, and we are now looking forward to connecting our product processing more closely with our other operations, says Henning Christensen, head of business area Breve Danmark within PostNord.

- We view the acquisition as the natural and necessary development of a well-functioning collaboration. We at Zimmer Holding Group are pleased to continue the development cooperation with Distribution Services and Post Danmark in the coming years, says Zimmer Holding President Jens E. Zimmer.

Post Danmark customers and Distribution Services A/S employees will not be affected by the acquisition.

- The company will continue operating as it has previously done. Post Danmark will only be appointing a new chief executive. The day-to-day management of the company will remain in place and there will be no change of premises, says Mr. Christensen.

Pursuant to the agreement of both parties, the purchase price will not be disclosed. The acquisition will take effect as of January 1, 2013 and is subject to competition authority approval.

Distribution Services A/S is owned by the Zimmer Holding Group. The company has specialized over the past eight years in the finishing and turnaround of printed media for distribution, with Post Danmark as its largest customer, and in the distribution of time-sensitive goods. Distribution operations were separated into a new Zimmer Holding Group company as of May 1, 2012, after which Post Danmark has been Distribution Services’ sole customer. Distribution Services has approximately 160 employees.
