From store to street. We deliver. Faster. Greener.
Speed, sustainability, and customer satisfaction are non-negotiable in retail today. JD Sports needed a way to get products into customers’ hands faster, cut costs, and reduce emissions. By turning its stores into local delivery hubs, we delivered a solution that moves items from store to street faster, greener, and smarter.
Understanding the business
JD Sports operates in a fast-paced retail environment where trends change quickly and customer expectations for delivery speed are high. With numerous stores across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, JD Sports needed a logistics solution that could keep up with demand, reduce costs, and limit environmental impact, all while ensuring customers receive their orders quickly and reliably.
The challenge
Traditional warehouse-based logistics created several challenges. Long-distance shipping routes contributed to a larger carbon footprint, conflicting with sustainability goals. JD Sports needed a solution that could maximize the use of existing store inventory, reduce reliance on central warehouses and associated costs, ensure fast deliveries across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, and minimize environmental impact while maintaining service quality.
The PostNord solution
We implemented a “ship-from-store” delivery model. By turning local stores into mini fulfillment centers, JD Sports could ship products directly from store to customer. This approach allowed the company to leverage existing inventory efficiently, cut down transit distances, and speed up delivery times. Products that were previously held in central warehouses could now reach customers from the nearest store, providing greater flexibility, faster service, and reduced environmental impact. We also deliver to SwipBox parcel lockers to make last-mile delivery even greener.
